Thank you very much. I'll get busy with it. The soldier involved was a great-great uncle of mine on my father's side. He was engaged here and at Sweden's Cove when Mitchell's troops first advanced on Chattanooga after Corinth, MS, seige was lifted. At the cove, there were approximately 400 Confederate cavalry facing about 10 times their number. The Confederates left in a hurry according to reports. He was a 60-day man and quit the army when his time was up. A year later he was arrested on his farm near Cadiz, Ky and sent to Federal prison at Fort Henry, Baltimore. Sad to say, all three of my Confederate kin wound up in prisons - one in Chicago, his brother in New Jersey and this one in Md.

Needless to say, the Federal's in the family faired better.
