I could not locate him as serving from the state of Tennessee. Since you have data stating that he died in Illinois in 1864; then it
is possible that he was a prisoner of war either held at (Rock island,Camp Douglass,Alton) But, i could not locate him as a P.O.W.
Also, could not find in U.S. Provost Marshall records of citizens. Maybe, he was a guerrilla captured in Dickson County in 1863/64
During this time many guerrillas/bushwhackers were killed or captured in the vicinity of Dickson Co. Including two of my ancestors, near
Charlotte,Tn.(1864) Some received trials and imprisonment,while others were executed on the spot.
