They were engaged at Shiloh, Tenn. on April 6, 1862 suffering at least 29 killed, 63 wounded and one captured. His name is not included on a list of these men. This tabulation is taken from information gained from the individual records of these individual soldiers. Not all those wounded who died later have information in their files as to the source of their wounds. I would suspect that Henry died of either disease, or from wounds suffered at Shiloh.

Unfortunately, Footnote.com does not yet have the service records of Iowa soldiers. Your best bet would be to obtain his records which should indicate cause of death, Yankee records are rather complete in this record. You can obtain his records through the service noted in the Red enclosed box above.

The National Military Park at Shiloh may very well have cause of death in their files of those buried there.
