Re: Robert Allen Hospitalized in MS.

All we know is that he died in Columbus Hospital at Corinth, Mississippi on May 15, 1862 after having been recorded present on the April 30, 1862 company muster roll. One researcher records that he died of disease. Unfortunately, there are no records extant of the Columbus hospital or other hospitals in Corinth, and we'll have to be content with the cause as has been listed. The only other recourse would be to locate a diary written by him or a comrade.

On 11/30/1861 he mustered into "Ives'" Co. TN 54th Infantry
He was transferred out on 4/1/1862
On 4/1/1862 he transferred into "I" Co. TN 48th Infantry
He died of disease on 5/15/1862 at Corinth, MS
