In Response To: 24th Tenn. Sharpshooters Batt. ()

I suspect it was only Capt. Frank Maney's Company A which participated in the battle of Murfreesborough

.......................................

E. F. Narramore, Private, Capt. John M. McAdoo's Company, Tennessee Volunteers,* enlisted December 16, 1862 in Humphreys County, Tenn, by Capt. McAdoo for 3 years, sent to hospital sometime before February 28, 1863, died at Gate City Hospital April the 12th, 1863

* This company subsequently became Company C, 24th Battalion Sharp Shooters.

The 24th, (also called Maney's) Battalion Sharp Shooters was organized May 1, 1863, with three companies which had formerly served as independent commands. It appears to have been temporarily consolidated into one company about April, 1864, and united with the 34th Regiment Tennessee Infantry (also called the 4th Confederate Regiment Tennessee Infantry)

About April 9, 1865, the 1st, 6th, 8th, 9th, 16th, 28th and 34th Regiment Tennessee Infantry and the 24th Battalion Tennessee Sharp Shooters were consolidated and formed the 1st Consolidated Tennessee Infantry, which was paroled at Greensboro, N. C., May 1, 1865.
