This unit was listed as formed July 9, 1861 under Capt Nicholas N Cox and James H Lewis, made up with men mainly from Perry and Hickman CO TN. Does anyone know of a list of these original enlisted men before this unit became part of Wheelers 6th TN Cavalry Regiment? I am looking for an Andrew J. Campbell, who would have been around 18 at this time, who has been listed as serving in the CW and supposedly died while in service. He was from Hickman/Lewis CO. Found several Andrew J Campbells, one from Pulski MO,Capt, and another from Bedford CO TN but none from this area. In hopes he may be on an orginal list of this unit. Thanks.
