Re: Confederate Burials at Strawberry Plains, TN

Yes, I was quoting from his Military Records. I left one sequence out. Maybe this will help.

Oct 29, 1862 - Richmond, KY - Taken Prisoner of War
Feb 11, 1863 - Listed on a POW Roll at Fort McHenry, MD
Feb 14, 1863 - Sent to Ft. Monroe, VA by order of Gen. Schenck to be exchanged for Union POWs
Returned to Strawberry Plains, TN to Hospital & died 3-23-1863.
I guess TN was closer than Florida.

Wm J. Kirkland lived in Gadsden Co., FL when enlisted with his brother.

Since W. J. never married, he left no surviving family. His brother, S. H. Kirkland, left a wife and 3 children but no records. I have been trying to identify their parents since 1985 with no luck. Thanks for your response and any help you may be able to give.
