Hi Lee,

Isn't this just fascinating? So many different ideas of what the term "Black Dutch" means. Sure wish my dad was still alive to join the debate. Next time I talk to my mom's mom, I will ask what she thinks. Momma is a true Southern Belle. A good Christian woman; very, very hospitable and generous with her time for good causes. If I can be 1/4 of what she is, I will have made something of myself. She was born in VA shortly after the turn of the century. Maybe what the term means is determined by where it is used? I am from East TN. Do you mind if I ask where you were from?

Sandy B.
