He joined the Regiment on the 18 May 1861 at Camp Trousdale,he was killed on the 24 July 1864. The Regiment was stationed at Camp Trousdale until the 22 July 1861, other photos have been attributed to this time & place. So it would seem likely this is when it was taken. After returning home on the 4 August 1863 until his death doesnt seem a likely time, but who knows!
