My county is Saline County, Arkansas. As to commonality guess it depends....has the county courthouse burned? That is always a big one for the old records. I would think probated were pretty much universal across the South of that time, but we just happened to save all of these before the county hauled them and other old records to the dump to clear up space. That is another factor, many county judges or clerks just had old records dumped to get them out of the way.
