Lilburn Depew from Sullivan / Washington Counties in upper east Tennessee was married to a 3 x removed 1st cousin of mine. He actually fought on both sides. Lilburn joined the Confederate Army (age 16) Co.B 19th Tn.and was discharged for being underage in 1862. In Sept 1863 he joined Co I Union 8th Tn. Cavalry. Drew a Federal pension following the war. He is pictured in the book " Tennessee's Union Cavalrymen " Young man wasn't going to let a Civil War go to waste ! He's gonna fight somebody !
