I am the descendant of John Gasaway DeShield. He served in the 14th SC Volunteers, Company F. After the war he moved to DeKalb Co., AL where he later served in law enforcement. He donated the land for the Trinity Church & cemetery where he lies today. I am searching for any other descendants or information on him and, especially, his family before the War.
