I have several record's for the soldier I think is my gg Grandfather ~ Year 2002 from the
National Archives I have a copy of the original, card # 1, "Cassady, James H, CO G, 1 Olmstead)...,
Private" (same soldier you mentioned) Card 1 also state's "number of personal papers herein-0 . ~
Nothing like age,residence...to identify him.
Another record on Ancestry listed under Personal Service; James H Cassidy, "DISTINGUISHED SERVICE".
What can you tell me that ? This is also the same soldier that served GA Company G ... killed 12 Aug 1863 Morris Island.
It also stated, as one record you found, his residence a Chatham County. I really have a problem with that,
how could they know this soldier's residence. It's my understanding that personal records were not
included in GA Confederate Soldier's record's. That is stated in Historical Data Systems, or at
least is was several years ago!
I think anything/clue to prove or document this is my ancestor will have to from a story like the one you provided.
George, you have provided information for me before, Sept/Oct 2010 listed under
TN (Chattanooga) and I sure appreciate your help.
