Marsh S.Bryson, 1st PSS, Co.K

I came across a copy of a letter dated September 1863 written by the subject. In researching his service, I found him killed in action 5-31-62 at Seven Pines. This listing is in Kirkland's "Broken Fortunes", and he lists that record as coming from the Charleston Daily Courier, and the "History of Spartenburg County", by Dr. Landrum in 1900. Landrum likely used the record in the CDC, which apparently was erroneous;not the first soldier reported killed who later came home (it happened to one of my Great-Great grandfathers).

1. That seems to be an incorrect date for the Seven Pines battle, but another in the PSS was reported injured that date. 2. Bryson's letter mentions he was promoted to sergeant, but records only show him as a private.

Bryson did come from Spartenburg County, but, did he survive the war? Would appreciate any additional info.
