Frederick,
This man appears in G.O. # 36 of the unit's logbook as being appointed
a Lance Corporal. The MSS is hard to read and I originally had him as
"W. H. Ling". Finding no "Ling" in the Service Records, I thought I may
have misread the name. I thought that "King" would make more sense
than "Ling", which prompted my orginal query.
The Log Book is on display at the Relic Room in Columbia; open to the
page in question. Incidently, this display is one of the finest flag exhibits
that I have ever seen in a Museum. If close by; don't miss it.
