Ok, that answers it was worthless, in which I figured..The Federal US Gov. didn't allow everyone to remain broke and in that case, how did they survive? I know back then money was important but with you growing your own food and making a lot of your own goods, it maybe wasn't as important. I was wondering if maybe someone has seen a book about life after the Civil War regarding money?
