Re: History Does Change but Facts Do not

You must remember that in World War II the families were given only limited specifics of the fate of their loved ones. This was for security purposes. If survivors existed that knew the fate of loved ones it would be to them that these details made it to the families if possible. Since air crew usually all died together there would be know one to share the detailed information.

It was not until decades later that the records were released and most families did not realize the information was available.

By all means I would attempt to find the families and give them the information you have.

On a side note, there is a 3 volume set on the Aleutian campaign, called "The Forgotten War", a photographic history. Its full of information.
