My (step) dad was in the same situation except he was the only survivor in his crew. What I did I went on geneology.com and looked at every surname of the men who went down with dad. I was able to contact a family member of each crewmember and pass to then dads official write-up of the incident.

What I didn't know was that dad and his sister had already made the rounds to these lost crewmembers immediate family. He gave them the info first hand. These members that I had contacted never had the paperwork, which a copy was in dads records.

What I got in return was a link to a fellow airman's whose eyewitness account is online and a couple of photos of dad and his crew.

It is well woth the effort to give contacting these people and passing on info.
