In most cases, I've read a name or incident mentioned, and did some further digging. In that sense I suppose it is. I've been interested in the Civil War since I was a kid in the 1950's. Until probably three years ago, I'd never heard the term "Black Confederates". I hate that the politically-correct interpretation of modern Civil War history wants to demean if not totally ignore these men (and sometimes women). I don't consider myself a "Lost Cause Defender", nor do I worship regularly at the Lincoln Memorial or Grant's Tomb. Being from east Tennessee, I had close relatives on both sides. Just accurate Civil War History is what I want.
