He deserted on January 4 1864 from the 15TH Confederate Cavalry around Mobile. I'm thinking he joined up with the band's of deserters in the South Mississippi area. After the war he went to Arkansas and then the I.T. where he was a physician. What's strange is he was a physician before the war but served only as a private in both the infantry and cavalry.
