Thanks Glen! I quickly note at least 4 of the applicants served in a unit of my particular interest the 9th.Battalion Tennessee Cavalry. Capt. Eli Hornbeak's Co.B, 2 in Captain Vernon F Bibb,s Co.C and another Monroe Stephenson in Co.B Most likely there were others. My grandfather was the Battalion Chaplain. I'm sure he would have known these men.
