In my opinion these declarations were not the product of a single person. It is like asking who wrote the Declaration of Independence? While Thomas Jefferson is generally given credit for writting the Declaration in history he surely did not come up with all the ideals stated in that document by himself. It was a compilation of ideas expressed in conferences held within the Continental Congress. Jefferson was obviously assisted by such members of the Continental Congress such a Benjamin Franklin and John Adams.
As Mr Martin has pointed out with the South Carolina Document these Secession Conventions were a group effort to arrive at a solution to the problem at hand. They were not the product of a rush to judgement but a process that had been in the works for months and in some cases such as South Carolina Years.
