Let me also say that in the case of Mississippi's "declaration of causes" it was one of the last documents produced AFTER secession was decided on. It was an after-thought and put together by a hand-full of people. The overall bulk of the convention was how to form a government and was very detailed in that operation of the convention. The vote for secession in Mississippi's case was a predetermined conclusion and didn't need this "declaration". It was the reverse of the formation of the United States in 1776.
