When you talk to our younger generation about what they think of history their reply is often "Why do I need to know about old dead people?". The same with Mathamatics. Why do I need to know Algebra, or Geometry, or Calculus. Why they can not even do simple addition, subtraction or multiplication in their head. They have to have a cell phone or some other calculator even for those functions. A simple store clerk can not even make change for a dollar without having to be told by a machinehow much to be given back.

Our children are not taught HOW to do critical thinking of abstract ideas. You can teach a dog to roll over, to sit and speak on command. But you can not teach a dog to think outside his own realm. That is how our children are being taught today to react, but not to question outside their own enviroments. They are given only what the program wants them to know and are given simplistic answer as all they need to know.

Our education system since the 70's has failed us.
