Chief, it probably was larger than the reproductions by Pietta and Uberti. There were two sizes originally. All were nine shots, ranging from .36 to .42 caliber. Later in the war, some were made in .44 to simplify supply. The shot barrel ranged from 28 to 16 guage. The site below has some interesting notes on the LeMat. Stan
