This is to certify that the foregoing company is composed of men over the ages of 45 years and a few boys under 18 years of age. They have eleven good double barrell shotguns and request that the Governor furnish thost that are still needed. They have only one key of powder and no shot and no more can be obtained in this section. This company is known as the "Mt. Hope Guards" and is desirous of being equiped as speedily as possible so as to obey any call that may be ready for troops to protect the sea coast.
