My ancestor was Samuel Wheatley with Company A, 5th Missouri Regiment. He was medically discharged from Johnson City, MO in Sept. 1862, moved to San Saba, TX after the War and is suspected of being buried in Saltillo, MS about 1882. It appears that his regiment may have had "basic training" in Saltillo, and rallied there in the early stages of the War. Could Samuel have made arrangements to be buried in Saltillo? OR could there have been a "reunion" in Saltillo in the early 1880's that Samuel attended and died while there? So many question! Any help/insight would be much appreciated!
