I had three ancestors in the 7th Battalion. Two great grandfathers, Sgt. Andrew Carter (Co. F) and Albert Henry Smith Thompson (Co. A), and one great great grandfather, Jesse Hinton (Co. G) were in it. Jesse's daughter married another Confederate ancestor, Angus Knox "Squire John" Fairley (Co. B, 3rd Battallion). All of these men were from Leaf River communities from Dixie Pines to Leaf, MS.
