Nathan A Lott born 1837 Marion Co. MS, Died April 26,1912. He first mustered 1861 with then Cpt. Hamilton Mayson, Regular Army of Tennessee, "Jeff Davis Sharpshooters" at age 24. Enlistment period May 4th through July 30th 1861. Then On 2/22 1862 he mustered with the 12th Mississippi Volunteers "Lawrence Rifles". This is from the Marion Co. Records signed by then Clerk J P Barnes. Not sure what happened there, but I have information that he was with D Co. Of the 7th. It gets confusing sometimes as changes were frequent and records scarce.

It is quiet likely he and Mr. Pittman were known to each other prior to their service, being they were 2yrs apart in age and from the same area.

I ran across your website while browsing, enjoyed it very much. Nathan Arthur Lott is my GGGGrandfather. There are other Nathan Lotts, all were related, closest were from Covington Co., I believe one was in the "Covington Fencibles".

Thanks for what you do.
