Re: 7th MS. Regiment-Train Wreck

Many thanks to you, Mr. Skellie, for your hard work on the 7th MS. Regiment over the years, and for all you do.

You know, if you have someone that has the time and energy, you could apply for a Federal grant and put up some more historical markers. Yours truly and one other guy (Rickey "Butch" Walker-noted educator, historian, Alabama Indian expert, Curator of the Oakville Indian Mound Museum, author, etc.,etc.) did just that and ended up writing and getting approval for 23 Markers that we put up all over Lawrence County, AL. It was 2 years of hard work, writing and rewriting and jumping through various hoops, etc. Then we had to come up with some matching funds (The Lawrence County Historical Commission provided most of it; the rest we begged, borrowed and stole.) But it was a wonderful experience that we wouldn't trade for anything. Seriously you might want to consider same.

Sorry, just meant to thank you for your endeavors and didn't mean to ramble, but when you get old, you not only get diarrhea of the mouth, but apparently also of the keyboard.

Regards,
Hoyt Cagle
