I really hate taking the ordnance report off the web page of Mississippi's John M. Wahl. It was so interesting -- I would not have expected to see flintlocks listed. I wonder how old those muskets were. The South really had to scrounge around for what they needed, esp. at the first and last parts of the war.

The IG called the flintlocks' appearance "slovenly and unsoldier like" -- maybe, but he must have been a young fellow or he would have had more respect for this musket that served the early territories quite well. IMHO
