Re: Where was Camp Sterling Price Sept. 1862?

I have many notes from my long time study of the Army of the West.

Here is a chronology of the early part of September-at least for the headquarters of that army.

9/2 Hqs Dist of the Tenn, Tupelo
9/3 Hqs Dist of the Tenn, Tupelo
9/4 Hqs Dist of the Tenn, Tupelo
9/6 Tupelo, Price to Tilghman
9/5 Hqs Dist of the Tenn, Tupelo
9/5 Camp Priceville
9/7 Tupelo, Price to Sam Jones
9/7 Guntown, Hqs Dist of the Tenn
9/8 Hqs Dist of the Tenn, Guntown
9/9 Guntown, Price to Van Dorn
9/10 Hqs Army of the West-Guntown
9/10 Price concentrated at Guntown and ready to move on Iuka
9/11 HQ Dist of Tenn-Guntown
9/11 Price's Army of the West left Guntown on the march to Iuka,
9/12 Hqs A of the W, in the field, Bay Springs
9/13 Price enters Iuka
9/13 Hqs A of the W, Peyton’s Mill, Camp #4
9/14 Price at Iuka to Gen Tilghman
9/15 Iuka, Hqs Dist of the Tenn

I will try and look through some of the records for the individual regiments and brigades to see what else I can find.
