The link below will take you to 77 results in various newspapers from Washington, DC to Mississippi containing "Winona Rifles" and some of the other mentioned names of interest. Apparently, they are all legit MS state troops. I wonder what year that book that was mentioned was written? I could find nothing on Slaughter's Artillery, Slaughter's Battery, etc.
