Not the last Surviving Missisisppi CS Soldier but interesting.
The Last Confederate in Warren County, Mississippi, apparently.
He is buried in the Jewish Cemetery near the VNMP Headquarters.
Do not know all the ladies, however, some are well known about Vicksburg.
This is a very - very long article and i know little about the Society.

Descendants Society Meet in Vicksburg This Week
The Warren County - Vicksburg Public Library, Vicksburg, Warren County, Mississippi

Descendants Society Meets in Vicksburg This Week’ Program For Sessions Saturday and Sunday are Announced; Descendants of the Participants of the Campaign, Siege, Defense of Vicksburg, will assemble in Vicksburg on Saturday and Sunday, May 21st, and 22nd, for the Third Grand Assembly of the Society. Besides local residents members of the Descendants, there will be members of the organization here from points in the United States.

A feature of the program will be presentation of awards to Local Eye - Witness to the Siege who are; Mrs. Johanna Kelley, Mrs Will Nicholson, Miss Lela Lum, Charles Galles (Galles may be incorrect, need to check.) Mrs. Alice Peale French, Mrs. Annie Crutcher Lee and Mrs. Ella Strothers Powell.

There will also be present Two Veterans of the War between the States, One who wore the Blue, Major Gage from Chicago, and the One who wore the Gray, Louis Hornthal, of Vicksburg. They too will also receive awards,

All will be introduced to the public.
