3 Davis brother & uncle in 1st Cav TN at Vicksburg

I am searching for the service records of the oldest sons of John H. Davis and those of his unknown brother. John H., his wife Arvazena (Scoggins) and children are recorded in the 1850 census in McMinn County, TN. The boys are James Knox Polk (abt 1841), William (abt 1843), Benjamin (abt 1844). The family is then listed in the 1860 census in Dist 3, Bradley, TN. A family account says of the 3 sons + uncle, "a cold rain was falling as they boarded the train at Cleveland, TN headed for the Confederate Army." I believe they enlisted in 1st Tennessee Cavalry Co. C, Carters. The only records I have located show Benjamin & William captured at Vicksburg and paroled 15 July 1863 via hospital ship to Mobile; James KP is reported missing since Battle of Baker's Creek, May 16, 1863 (even though I don't see where TN troops were involved in that skirmish). The family account says of the 2 of the Davis brothers were killed -- one via illness and the other "shot off his horse charging the Yankees near the Tenn-Kentucky line). The other brother and uncle "faded from the picture." They might have returned TN while the rest of the family moved to near Dalton, GA around 1864 to get away from Northern sympathizing neighbors and shortly thereafter homesteaded in Limestone Co., AL. Can anyone help me find the Confederate death records of the two Davis boys? If one of the other Davises in Company B could be shown to be John H. Davis' brother that would be a bonus. Many thanks for any assistance.
