Re: Napoleon Decatur Mc Coy Letters 7th Miss.

The blessings keep coming. Amazing. Do you mean the "original" originals? Do you also have the original envelopes? What about photos of the brothers and Julia? I have transcripts and photo copies of the letters and envelopes as well as a photocopy of Julia's photograph supplied by Lydia Smith. I am almost finished with the story and have a cover prepared. I would love to discuss via email or phone and will halt publishing until I hear from you. I still believe it can be completed before Christmas. I would like to introduce it at "Christmas at Beauvoir" December 7-8, 2013.

We just completed another book in the "Lest We Forget" series about George S. Lea also of Company C called "May Angels Guard Thee" including quotes from Poly's letters about the Mississippi coast. I also have word that the author of the history of the 27th Louisiana, Eli's regiment, may be planning a sequel to his "Acadian's in Gray" about the 27th Louisiana. Volume III of "Lest We Forget-The Immortal Seventh Mississippi" will also include what we get on the "McCoy Boys of Amite County" and much more about the men, their messmates, and their "connections" back home.

My email: rskellie@mindspring and my cell: 770-891-3836.

Is it possible that you have letters from Julia to the twins, Poly and Eli? or any letters from or to her other brothers Gran, Ed, Bill, Matt? Other family members? By the way I have learned that Napoleon's middle name was Dekalb not Decatur.Don't know if the "K" is capitalized.

I have also indexed the letters and have identified most of the people mentioned in the letters. Some of the copies are blurry so originals would help with transcribing questions.

Based on the work we have already completed on the 7th Mississippi regiemntal history, we already have some significasnt changes identified in several letters.
