Bill:
During April 1863, Pound and most of Co. H/43rd MS, were on Deer Creek, helping patrol the many bayous and little rivers that led to Vicksburg from the north. The Yankees were making various probes through these waterways in order to get around VB's defences.
We have very little in the way of detail about Pound's Battalion's movements. There just aren't many records.
