You just taught me something i didnt know you said "About April 9, 1865, the 27th regiment was consolidated with the 24th, 29th, 30th and 34th Regiments Mississippi Infantry, and formed a new regiment, which was designated the 24th Regiment Mississippi Infantry. So all of these Regiments joined in the 24th Infantry in the last days of the war? So some of the soldiers records we cant find with the 24th MS INF, could in fact be listed as 27th, 29th, 30th, and 34th corrrect?
