He is burried in Red Hill Cem in Greene County MS, not sure why the find a grave link keeps breaking, and i cant seem to figure out how to upload a pic of his tombstone to this site. If u do a cemetery search on find a grave u can see his stone. On which it says Private Captain Fayes CO. It appears to be a Confederate Stone. His pension which is posted above also states Capt Fayes Co. And he is not the only Soldier we cant find records of, the Reverend Robert Prine is another, and there are several more. We have been using Fold 3. I will Email Dan Mcaskill and see where he got 37th MS Infan Co C from.
Seems some of the records are coming from Historical Data Systems. Almost all enlistment Discharge Dates i have gotten from yall, are different than what Dan has on MCGR. It looks like on alot of Soldiers memorials , he simply put the date of surrender. If this soldier did not sign up till the end of the war, and all records are before 1865, I just do not see how i can safely call it a fraud. Are yall absolutely, positively sure he did not serve? IF u look on our Greene County Confederate Graves Registry u will see what soldiers we have found a service file under and which ones we did not,

We have a Private Edward Box we found a Confederate Citizens File but no record of service. Seems he sold Wool to the Army, yet he is listed on MCGR as a soldier.
