Re: Pvt William F Pipkins 24th MS inf Co A

Brent:

Good chance he's one of the 400+ CS Unknowns buried at the Resaca Confederate Cemetery.

Lt. Reid of Co. G of the 24th was also killed at Resaca, and he's among the identified CS burials from the battle.

So, there's a very good chance that Southern Patriot Pipkins is also buried there.

No info to back this up; just an educated guess based upon a fellow soldier killed in the same battle being buried there.

Probably other un-ID'd KIA's from the 24th buried there, too.

See Resaca Cemetery pages at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~gagordo3/resaca_confederate_cemetery.htm.

PS: Don't forget to alert Dan McCaskill about your work so he can add it to the Division's CS Burials pages!!!
