Hi, I am related to the Deskins. James Monroe and Matlida Ann Peoples are my 3rd great grandparents. Their daughter Margret Angeline Deskins married William Franklin Murray, they are my 2nd great grandparents. I have a letter from 1972, written by Raymond Busby (a relative) that states that Matlida Deskins was a full blood Choctaw Indian. No documentation, but perhaps a lead.
