Alfred H. Ramsey, Private, Capt. V. L. Terrell's Unattached Company (Terrell Dragoons),* enlisted May 14, 1862 at Camp Moore, La. by V. L. Terrell for the war, died of disease September 14, 1862, description, 28 year old Farmer, born in Mississippi, Harrison County, 5' 10", fair complexion, blue eyes, dark hair, left a widow and two children

* This company was also known as Company B, Stockdale's Battalion Mississippi Cavalry.

General Orders No. __, Headquarters Cavalry in Mississippi, dated Canton, September 14, 1863, states: "Hughes' and Stockdale's Battalions of Mississippi Cavalry are hereby organized into a Regiment." The regiment thus formed was designated the 4th Regiment Mississippi Cavalry, and this company became Company B, of that organization.
