I do not find his name in the two documents I possess listing the men buried in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Confederate Rest, Vicksburg City Cemetery. This could suggest his family had his body re-interred and buried at home.

James Boler, 32 year old Farmer, born in Hind County, Miss., Private, Company I, 6th (Balfour's) Battalion Mississippi Vols.,* enlisted May 2/3,1862 at Union, Newton County, Miss. by Lt. Gardener for 3 years, killed in action at Vicksburg July 1, 1863, Description: 5' 8", fair complexion, light hair, gray eyes

* This company subsequently became Company I, 46th Regiment Mississippi Infantry
