18th MS Infantry David S. White

Hi, everyone. I need some help from the crack researchers on this forum who seem to have a direct link to answers that elude me. A great-great-uncle, David Samuel White, served as a private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, Company C and Company G. I have gotten a general idea of the battles that this regiment took part in, which is a sobering list: First Manassas, Seven Days, Malvern Hill, Antietam, Fredericksburg under Barksdale, the Wilderness, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, Cold Harbor, the Shenandoah under Early, Sayler's Creek, Appomattox. I don't know how long David White made it through all of that. I suspect that he was killed or died sometime during the war. I would appreciate any help in this regard. Thank you very much, Amanda
