I do more genealogy research from census records, and such, and not so much Military searching. Other than finding Jasper Duvall with his father and family in the 1850 Wayne county, Mississippi census, I was not sure he existed. Our Duvall family names are not the same on the 1850 and 1860 census of Wayne county, Mississippi. He could have also been called Thomas Duvall if he is in the 1860 census. Shubuta, Mississippi is in Clarke county, but on the border of the Clarke and Wayne county lines. Duvall family land is located in Hiwannee, MS which is also on the county lines, but in Wayne county, MS. The 1870 census does not cover the area where the Duvall's lived.

To the point, I was surprised to find Jasper Duvolve in the roster for 37th MS Regiment, CO. E. on ancestry, and I found him by accident while scrolling through their list of names. Duvolve is another way of misspelling this family name. I have found that genealogy researching turns into a lot of guessing for many researchers. Guessing: Jasper may have died in Franklin or Nashville, TN? Is there a listing of names in these military graveyards. I have walked through a civil war graveyard in Nashville?

Is there any further research I can do regarding Jasper Duvolve's military life after Aug. 31, 1864? I usually pass the military searches to my brother, so I don't know my resources for doing this extended search. One of the links provided is not working. file not found.
