I saw those men, they didn't fit your list so I only gave you the closet matches, at least I hope I did???

True the unit info did verify the cards, but nothing in William Hughes cards indicated he waspart of the Mississippi group. It is my understanding that the notation at the top of the card would be on all soldiers cards that served in the 1st Virginia Cav. regardless of the unit they served in. Using The CWS&S I pullled up a the list of men who served in The 1st Virginia. I pulled a card from a couple of different and the notation was on their cards.

You are right about the information. I have an uncle buried in North Carolina with headstone and all, the only problem is he did not die. Like you I think he slipped one over on the guards.
