Re: William H. Harmon, Co. I, 42nd Miss. Inf.

I had the pleasure of taking Fred Harmon and his wife on a Gettysburg battlefield walk last year. We walked the route of the 42nd Mississippi. I believe Fred is still on duty in Iraq. It has never been nailed down clearly exactly where Lieutenant William Harmon died of his leg wound suffered July 1. In my research for my book ALSO FOR GLORY - The Pettigrew - Trimble Charge at Gettysburg I determined that Lt. Harmon was taken back to Williamsport on the Imboden Train and died after returning to Virginia.
