The Mississippi in the Civil War Message Board

William H. Harmon, Co. I, 42nd Miss. Inf.

Lt.-Col. Harmon, Nancy Armstrong:
I am posting this message in the hopes one or both of you will read it. I have also sent an e-mail to various accounts I discovered on-line for both of you. I hope at least one form of communication will succeed.

During recent research I found a newspaper death notice which led me to look for more information concerning the man identified. I discovered a series of messages posted on this board in 2007 and 2008 concerning the death and burial location of the identified soldier.

I am proud to be able to deliver the following information.

"Died, . . . on Tuesday, the 21st inst., of wounds received in the battle of Gettysburg, Lt. William H. Harman, Company I, 42d Reg't. Miss. Vol., in the 29th year of his age."

Please contact me off-board for more details concerning the burial location.
