I am a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans.I am wanting to acquire a Mississippi Infantry uniform to wear in local parades in my area and possibly do a little reenacting. I have ancestors who served in both of these infantry regiments.Could someone please tell me what most Miss infantrymen wore. I have seen pictures in time life books but none are very clear and most of these enlisted men are from other southern states. Any help would be appreciated I am though especially interested in either a frock coat or shell jacket either dark gray, cadet gray ? Also my great great great uncle was a corporal in 2nd Quinn's, I know confederate infantry regiments wore either black or blue stripes which were used more often ? Is this appropriate for this time period & attire for enlisted men in these regiments ?
