Len, have you uncovered any action involving the 5th MS Infantry during March 1862? My understanding is they were marched from Pensacola to Iuka as part of J.R. Chalmer's Brigade. And there they prepared for confrontation at Shiloh.

My family history says Cpl. James Luther of Co. G of the 5th MS Infntry was killed 26 Mar 1862. This doesn't make sense. Can you provide any info?
